In this picture, you can see that the imagine is quite blurry and slightly out of focus. You can also see that the model's face looks quite flat, this is because it lacks shadow and dimension in their face. The umbrella light had almost an even level of light as the soft box which is the reason it gives the model the "flat" look. The left side of their face has a warmer glow than the right side because the white light was hitting the right side of his face. I zoomed in on the model's face in order to remove the background and attempted to avoid anything to distract the viewer from the main subject of the picture.
In this picture you can see we improved from the last, we put the focus on the model's face more and made them the main subject of the picture, we did this by making the background less out of focus to make it evident that the main subject is what the viewer is supposed to be looking at. The black on his jumper and the white background juxtaposes against each other which stands out to the viewer.
This was the final picture where we felt as though we were merely close to Martin Schoeller's work. This was mainly due to how focused we were to the subject's face. In this, you can see we zoomed into the face and we focused it to the point where we could very clearly identify the object. You can see the tone of their face as one side of the object had more light hitting it than the other, from this you can see the shadows which gives the 3D and more realistic effect. Their eyes are captivating as they're staring into the camera. The dark hair and jumper stands out against the plain white background which gives the viewer an idea at what they should be looking at.
