The Rule of Thirds is a theory dictating how an image should be composed in order to create an aesthetically pleasing result. It’s more of a guideline than an actual rule. The principle involves splitting an image into nine equal parts, two lines across and two lines down. For the best results your subject/subjects should land where any two lines cross.
